I know, I know it's been a while again.
I have been getting grief for my lack
of communication. Where did we leave off?
Has it been four months already? Well,
right after I sent in my last update with
the news letter I took the band up to
good ole Bristol, TN. I was talking to
Rodney about trying to get a gig up there
during race time. We have both gotten
some race fever since we went to Talladega
and the folks in Bristol are making it
hard to stay away.
I
guess I should get right down to it.
Right after Bristol I took a little
break and headed out to California to
play a gig and see some friends for
a week. It started out great but halfway
through my trip I got the worst phone
call of my life. If you didn't know
I have two
brothers, Jinx and J.O. They are identical
twins and my most favorite people in
the world. Jinx died in a diving accident
at our families business on July 22nd.
I don't know how to express what gets
bottled up inside while your are sitting
two thousand miles away with no immediate
way home or what has chosen to fill
my heart and head since. So I won't
try. I will say that he is dearly missed
everyday and nothing will fill the void
created by such a great man. I would
like to say a very sincere thanks to
everyone who showed my family the unbelievable
amount of support these last few months.
I
took a couple of weeks off to get my
head together and after that did some
weekend stuff. We have been doing mostly
only weekend gigs recently so I can
be home to help out around the office.
I took some family and friends with
me to Natchez back in October. It was
a great experience. The people at the
festival were incredibly accommodating
to all 32 of them. And genuinely good
people to play for. I hope we get to
do that one again next year. It was
the first time I had ever taken my peoples
to a gig like that. We had two tour
buses full. Looking out and seeing my
family made it all worth while even
after I jumped up on my piano and stomped
it until it crashed during Jesus on
the Main Line at the end of
the night. So I got a little carried
away.
Oh
yea, I have to mention, we have a semi
new addition to the PSB. His name is
Brian Lurie. Brian, our new tour manager,
has been touring with us for a while
now and holding it all together. He
stays mad at me but who wouldn't if
they had to work with me everyday. Between
Brian, Ann in the office, and Mark on
the website things are running as smooth
as ever. Brian will light a fire under
us and get us back out on the road soon
I'm sure. Anyway, I hope we see you
around soon and I wish you all satisfaction,
success and the best life can bring.
Take care, Patrick

Hey Everybody, I'm back. Just droppin a line.
The last few months have been going great.
I guess a good starting place would be our
first gig at Mugshots in Hattiesburg. The
night turned out to be a real party. I didn't
know those Hattiesburg people had it in em.
We are looking forward to going back in August
for another Jam with a capitol J. In addition
to the touring we have been doing I have been
slipping down to New Orleans every other Wednesday
night for a jam session with Juice at the
Banks Street Bar. That has proven to be a
hell of a good time and I have met some great
folks down there. We have actually gotten
pretty tight, the Juice guys and me. Who knows,
there might be a tour in our future.
The PSB has hit everywhere from Killroy's
in Bloomington, IN to Sammy T's in Huntsville,
AL to the Peachtree Tavern in Hotlanta where
we did a show with the one and only Jupiter
Coyote. I got to sit in with the guys for
what I thought would be a tune or two. It
turned out to be all night. Matt gave me some
cds and I got to listen to hours of great
music. Thanks, guys. We also did the Twiropa
in New Orleans with our friends from ZOSO.
The Twiropa is a killer room. Check it out.
We have done some more runnin around with
the Dirty Dozen. That started with a one off
in Knoxville, TN at Blue Cats. Then, after
a month or so we picked back up on the east
coast in Virginia Beach at the Jewish Mother.
From there we
went to two of my new favorite places, the
Avalon Theater in Easton, MD and the State
Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia. That's
just outside of DC. I have to say I can't
remember the last time we got a better reception
anywhere. Thanks to both of those venues for
the warm welcome and the return invitation.
Rodney and Anthony seem to be holding up pretty
well. I guess I would be too if I didn't have
to drive. I have been getting a little help
from our friend Cedric who has been playing
some sax with us. I almost forgot. We have
been doing some gigs with Jupiter Coyote's
drummer, Noel Felty. He is tearing it up and
will be doing so for quite a few more gigs.
I get a little road weary from time to time
but I wouldn't change a thing. Well, I take
that back. I would love it if I had a cheap
driver.
Take care and we'll see ya soon, Patrick |

Hey everyone, not being the computer guru,
it's been a while since I gave an update.
Sorry. Well, since I last posted something
to the site things have been moving right
along. The record is still selling. I got
a new publicist. Her name is Kitty Cook.
She is trying to help me get the word out
these days. She's doing a great job at it
too. I have been doing some shows here and
there with the Dirty Dozen. Those guys are
the best. The PSB has been burning up the
southeast and doing some venues that we
haven't done before. We made some new friends
at Sticky Fingerz in Little Rock and Young
Ave Deli in Memphis. We also played the
Exit-in with Zoso. Those guys are super
people and very good at what they do. Thanks
to the work of Rick Stowe and my bus driving
buddy, Chris Cobb it went off with out a
hitch. Rodney and I also did an acoustic
show with Emerson Hart from Tonic. What
can I say, no wonder they have had so much
success. Chris Chew and I did some South
Miss Rejects shows in our off time. We even
played the Georgia Theater with our old
friend, guitarist Dave Yoke and my favorite
producer John Keane. Who, by the way, produced
our record if you didn't know. Anyway, that's
about it in a nut shell. Give me a shout
if you want to know something.
Take care, Patrick |

October 1, 2004
Hey everyone. Just wanted to drop
a line and let folks know what we've
been doing. As most of you guys know,
I have been playing keyboard for the
Dirty Dozen Brass Band on the side
for quite a while now. A few weeks
ago I went out west with those guys
and had a blast. We played northern
and southern California. I got to
meet some cool people in Mammoth Lakes
and saw some old friends in Los Angeles.
We also played the Hollywood Bowl
in LA. I saw first hand, in front
of 10,000 people, why it is one of
the best venues in the world. We got
to play with the Neville brothers
and yes I got to meet them as well.
I got a picture with Aaron. I'll try
to get on the site soon.
Just last week I went back out with
the Dozen and the North Miss Allstars.
We started in Texas and went to Athens,
GA. While we were in Austin we played
Antone's Bar downtown. I even got
to see Aaron Neville again. He sat
in with us that night. I played there
once before when I was out with Buddy
Guy a few years ago. It still rocks.
The next day we played the Austin
City Limits Music Festival. I think
there were some 110,000 people or
so. What an event! There was a lot
of great music and I got to meet some
great musicians like Elvis Costello
and Ben Harper. That has to be one
of the best festivals in these 50
states. The Allstars invited me up
to play almost every night. It was
very nice to jam with them again after
so long.
The Dozen and the Allstars will be
back out for the month of Oct and
half of Nov. I am going to try to
drop in on several of those shows
when I get an off day. In October
I will be back out with the PSB playing
the southeast. If you get a chance
come check out a show. Cd sales are
still going pretty well so please
spread the word. You can get them
right here on the site, Amazon.com
and at all Bebop Record stores.
Well I guess thats it. If anyone has
anything to say please shoot me an
email. Take care and thanks for the
support!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you
know the cd is here. You can pick
it up here on the site or Peterson's
in downtown Vicksburg, Michelle's
Record Shop in Vicksburg, all the
Bee-Bop record stores across the state.
I will also have the cd for sale at
all of my gigs.
We had a great time a week or so ago
over on the eastcoast with the Dirty
Dozen Brass Band. I had never been
to Valdosta, GA but we tow it up.
They invited me up for the whole show.
Roney and I did it up right at Davidsons
the other night as a two piece accoustic
show. We have been doing as much of
that as we can. It's just so much
fun. Next week we will be at Smith's
Ole Bar in Hot Lanta for an opener
with Widspread Panics Roadies. You
gotta start somewhere right? Then
it's back to Noel and the gang in
Mobile, AL at Monsoon's. Thanks for
checking out the site. I will try
to do a better job getting these little
messages out more often.
Take care, Patrick

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you
know that the cd was pushed back a
little. What's new huh? Anyway, it's
finished. That's right!!!!! I never
thought I would say those words. I
am mastering it this week in Oxford
at Taproot, that's my old friend Jeffery
Reed's place, and then it is off to
the press. The guys at Live Web Design
are working on the merchant account
so you can buy it on line. I should
have it up on Amazon.com and in some
local stores by the end of April.
The cd will be for sale at the gigs
as soon as I get it back from the
press. Also, I have a new publicist.
Her name is Pam Cross. Pam is from
Atlanta. She's done alot of work for
some big name bands over the years.
Thanks for
checking out the site and please keep
spreading the word..
Take care, Patrick

Hey everyone, thanks for checking
out my new site. I am currently finishing
up a new record in Athens, Ga. The
producer is John Keane. You may have
heard of him from recordings such
as REM, Indigo Girls, Widespread Panic
and alot more.
In addition to some new songs, I also
have the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and
all of the guys from the North Miss
Allstars and Jimbo Mathus guest appearing
on the record. We have had a few set
backs but are commited to having it
out the first part of March at the
latest. I will keep you posted on
the release date. I will be selling
the record at some retail stores in
the South. I will also have it for
sale on the web site and other places
like Amazon.com. We will be touring,
mostly around the southeast , this
spring trying to promote the new cd.
We greatly appreciate the support
given to us by our fans and hope to
make some new ones. I have also been
doing a side project with Chris Chew
from the North Miss. Allstars. It
has become a fun gig when the two
of us are not on our regular shows.
If you have any questions about the
band, the schedule or anything else
you can think of please give us a
shout online.
Thanks again and please spread the
word. - Patrick
